零陵迴龙塔

迴龙塔位于市区潇水东岸,建于明代中叶,为一砖石结构八角七级宝塔,分为五层,高近30米。塔内有旋梯至塔顶,每层东南西北四方均开有券门,由此可以走出塔门,外绕塔身环行,远眺四周景色。每层平座和腰檐之间的高度不等,使塔身立面具有变化丰富的韵律感。平座和腰檐下设有五镇作斗拱,斗为砖制,拱为石作,形制上保留了宋代建筑的遗风,门额有“迴龙宝塔”四字。据《零陵县志》载:“因郡城水势瀚漫,吕藿捐金造回龙塔于此口,以镇慑水患”。
Huilong Tower in Lingling

Huilong Toweris located on the east bank of Xiaoshui River in the urban area. Itis built in the middle of Ming Dynasty. As a brick-stone building, it has eightangles and seven layers. It is nearly 30 meters with five floors. There is awinding stair revolving to the top of tower. There are arch doors in fourdirections in every floor, from which people can step out and circle the bodyof the tower to overlook the nearby scenery. The heights of flat seat andcornice are different in every floor, which causes the change of the body ofthe tower. There are five Dou Gongs (capitals) under the flat seat and cornice.Dou is made of bricks and Gong is made of stones, which is the characteristicof buildings in Song Dynasty. There are four characters “Hui Long Bao Ta” onthe top of the main door. In LinglingCounty Annals, “Because the river is the threaten to the safety of thecity, Lv Huo donated money to build Huilong Tower here in order to deal withdisasters caused by floods.”
