濂溪故里是宋代理学鼻祖周敦颐的故乡，位于道县清塘镇楼田村，距县城10公里。村庄依山而建，成带形分布，古风蕴藉，文气沛然。村前为濂溪大洞，田野平阔，一水中流，岗陇丘阜，拱揖环合，山岗瑞霭，佳气葱笼。村后道山如画屏矗立，古木修竹，扶疏叠翠。山村四时，风景秀丽，山之色、水之光、花之丽、鸟之音，无不让人赏心悦目。村头仿古牌坊，镌长联“周庭举世皆尊，元公哲学，鲁讯文章，恩来开国总理；风景这边独好，濂溪湛蓝，都庞苍翠，道岩湘南奇观”，高度概括了宋明理学鼻祖周敦颐后裔（鲁迅、周恩来均是周敦颐后裔）的繁衍发达和濂溪故里的自然风光。
Key cultural relics under state-level protection
Situated in LoutianVillage, Qingtang Township of Daoxian County, 10 kilometers away from the county seat, Lianxi is the hometown of Zhou Dunyi, the originator of Li Xue (a Confucian school of idealist philosophy of the Song and Ming Dynasties) in Song Dynasty. The village is built along a mountain and distributed zonally. It is a place containing profound ancientry and literacy. In front of the village is the Lianxi Cavity. Among the flat and broadly extending fields, a stream winds its way through. Hillocks, uplands and field ridges undulate around, all fogged in thin haze. Behind the village isDaoShanMountainstanding tall and upright like a drawing screen. The whole village is robed in verdure with serried old-aged trees and slim bamboos. In four seasons, the village will present picturesque scenery. The color of the mountain, the clear of the water, the beauty of the flowers, the songs of the birds can all brighten people’s eyes and hearts. There carved the couplet saying: “All the Zhous are notable ones, Yuangong’s Philosophy, Lu Xun’s articles and Zhou Enlai the premier/Most beautiful the scenery here, Lianxi Brook’s crystal clear, Dupang’s jade green and Daoyan Cliff the marvelous spectacle” on the archaized torii at the head of the village, which admirably summed up the prosperity of Zhou Dunyi’s descendants (Lu Xun and Zhou Enlai are all descendants of Zhou Dunyi) and the nature beauty of Lianxi Hometown.
